"This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!" (2 Cor. 5:17 NLT)

"For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. In those days when you pray, I will listen. If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me. I will be found by you,” says the Lord. “I will end your captivity and restore your fortunes. I will gather you out of the nations where I sent you and will bring you home again to your own land.” (Jeremiah 29:11-14 NLT)

Modern Day Jonah

Are you fleeing from God's purpose or commands? Do you know what God wants you to do and are heading in the other direction? Are you a modern day Jonah?

Do you know what He requires and commands, but don't want to do it (or have stopped doing it)? It is never a wise move to disobey the command of God, yet we often let visible deterrents, selfishness, excuses, pride or fear take precedence overGod's commands. Have you ever heard God's call, understood His will, or seen His will, yet chosen to go the opposite way?

God looks with eyes that see everything. He peers into our ground and depth, our entire inner life, our thoughts and desires, our feelings and imaginations, are all known by God. He always knows when we are denying his commands. No distance, height, depth or darkness can hide us from God's presence. God is as close as we are to ourselves.

God's will for our lives is infinitely better than any other path we can choose to follow. His blessings surpass any hesitations, and His results triumph any visible fears. No matter where you go, or in what situation you find yourself, seeking God's will and following it is always the right decision to make.

Do you know God's will for you right now? Has He shown you the path you should be taking? You will face fears and hesitations, yet God desires that you would put aside those feelings and step out in faith to follow Him. He desires for you to put it all in His hands. God had a plan to save Nineveh through Jonah, and Jonah almost missed out on that blessing. Don't miss out on God's unbelievable blessings by choosing to flee God rather than following Him. It's time to shake yourself, wake up, and confess to God and repent before your ship heads into what will certainly be some very stormy weather, or worse.

"Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. Point out anything in me that offends you, and lead me along the path of everlasting life." Psalm 139:23-24 NLT

Submit yourself to God - the deepest slavery is self-dependence, self-reliance. When you live your life believing that everything depends primarily on you, you're enslaved to your strengths and weaknesses. You're trying to be your own savior. Real life begins when we transfer our trust from our own efforts to the efforts of Christ and follow His path for us.

Don't flee like Jonah, run toward the Lord. When you follow His will, you will be blessed beyond measure!
